About the Journal

The Journal of Foreign Affairs at Carolina (JFAC) is an undergraduate research journal at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that publishes undergraduate research on global affairs and current events. This student-run journal partners with the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Carolina International Relations Association to publish biannual issues showcasing student research and student photography from around the world. This interdisciplinary journal accepts submissions relating to global affairs and a wide variety of subjects including, but not limited to, economics, religion, anthropology, international relations, language, and regional studies.

Meet The Executive Team

Annabella Rozin | Editor-in-Chief

Annabella Rozin is a second-year Peace, War, and Defense student concentrating in international security and intelligence. She is also minoring in Hispanic Studies and Russian Culture. Annabella is interested in learning about foreign communities through their languages and enjoys taking classes about the Middle East. Outside of JFAC, Annabella serves as Community Outreach Officer for Sigma Rho Lamba, UNC’s only Jewish-interest sorority, where she facilitates connection between the sorority and undergraduate, graduate, faculty, administrators, and on or off-campus organizations. In her free time, Annabella loves going outside, knitting, and reading. 

Jack Dolan | Chief Digital Editor

Jack is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill from Oklahoma City, OK, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in History. He has a strong curiosity for international relations, foreign policy, history, and political economy, having worked in the energy and industrial real estate sectors. He has worked with JFAC since his freshman year of college and enjoys staying connected with the international relations ecosystem at UNC. Outside of JFAC, he is involved with Kenan-Flagler Business School and his Greek fraternity.  In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading, following Carolina and Oklahoma sports teams, and spending time with friends.

Madelyn Scholle | Chief Assistant Editor

Madelyn Scholle is a sophomore majoring in Public Relations & Advertising and Public Policy with a minor in German Studies. She is interested in international relations, foreign policy, and environmental planning. She has been with JFAC since her first year at Carolina, previously working as a staff editor. Outside of JFAC, she works on the audience engagement desk of The Daily Tar Heel and is a part of the Carolina Diplomacy Fellows. In her free time, she enjoys putting creative writing to music.

Ellie League | Chief Design Editor

Ellie is a junior from Raleigh, NC, studying Peace, War, & Defense and Data Science. She is interested in foreign affairs and international security, having spent last summer working at a think tank in Washington, D.C. She has worked with JFAC since last Fall. Ellie will be studying in Paris this Fall and enjoys hiking, traveling, and cooking in her free time.
